On The Issues

Accountability

Listening is the paramount duty of elected officials. My mantra is "Lead By Listening." My unwavering commitment to my constituents and the people of Findlay is centered on maintaining a robust line of communication and ensuring accessibility. I pledge to be actively engaged with the residents of the Third Ward. I aim to be readily available through phone, email, and social media, making sure no one feels unheard or overlooked. I will never shy away from complaints, criticism, feedback, or diverse opinions—even when they challenge my viewpoints. My approach will consistently be to over-communicate, guaranteeing clarity and understanding at every turn. I promise to listen with an open mind, always prepared to adapt and change when necessary. Above all, every individual will receive the utmost respect they rightfully deserve.

Economic Prosperity & Job Creation

I will work tirelessly to foster a resilient and prosperous local economy, actively seeking opportunities for diversification. This approach ensures that job opportunities remain available, even in challenging economic times. I will staunchly support our small businesses, aiming to provide them with tax breaks, grants, and simplified regulations to enhance their growth prospects. By emphasizing the importance of well-paying jobs, I'll champion investments in workforce training and collaborate to attract, retain, and expand local businesses committed to our workforce. I'm confident that these efforts will not only stimulate economic growth but also ensure our community's long-term prosperity.

Education

I will prioritize policies that make it easier for our citizens to earn degrees or trade certifications. I will advocate for incentives that drive investment in local education, aiming to create more opportunities for our residents. I am committed to enhancing the quality of education in our community for the future. I plan to forge stronger ties between the city and our school district, collaborating to identify new opportunities and share best practices that will enrich student experiences. I am determined to craft an educational environment that truly nurtures and uplifts our future generation in the spirit of "Excellence, Opportunity, and Belonging".

Environment

I will champion environmentally friendly policies to ensure our community always has access to clean water, air, and a healthy environment. I view our green spaces as treasures for future generations, and will make sure they receive proper funding and care. While being prudent with funds, I will constantly seek opportunities to introduce new recreational areas. My aim is to strike a balance, promoting growth while ensuring our community has peaceful spots to unwind in the future.

Healthcare

I am determined to bolster our healthcare system, ensuring everyone has access to the best possible care. I will actively advocate for expanded mental health support, recognizing the importance of a comprehensive approach to well-being. I understand that in Findlay, many emerging issues, such as homelessness and drug use, frequently coincide with mental health challenges. It's crucial that we address the root causes of these problems and offer supportive services whenever possible.

Housing

In Findlay, one of the most pressing challenges we face is a significant housing shortage. Addressing this requires a comprehensive approach. Firstly, we should stimulate the construction of new homes by offering tax incentives to developers and by streamlining the permit process. Next, a review and adjustment of zoning laws could foster the development of multi-family units and mitigate urban sprawl. To further promote home-ownership, we can offer programs that support first-time home-buyers, such as tax breaks and low-interest loans. At the same time, we must craft fair protections for both landlords and tenets. Investments in public housing, coupled with the expansion of voucher programs, would aid low-income families in securing quality housing. Lastly, enhancing public transportation ensures that residents can easily access their jobs and essential services, making Findlay an even better place to work and live. Additionally, I will prioritize policies that prevent individuals and families from becoming homeless in the first place, such as rental assistance programs, eviction prevention, and job placement programs.

Public Safety

I will ensure our law enforcement receives the resources they need for our community's future safety. I will actively support community policing, aiming to reinforce trust between our police and citizens. I will always emphasize the importance of accountability and transparency, recognizing its essential role in fostering community trust.
